OE987 RM of Tache Workers on Strike!
editThe Operating Engineers of Local 987 at the RM of Tache are officially on strike as of today, February 23rd, 2026, at the Public Works/Office building at 28007 Municipal Road 52N Dufresne, MB R5K 0N7 (Hwy 206 and number 1 Hwy). The striking locations will be changed and rotated daily, please stay posted for updates.
Both the RM of Tache and the Union have agreed to terms, conditions, and wages for the first 2 years of the contract, however, the Employer is pushing for a 3rd year, despite the fact that wages proposed for the third year do not reflect current market conditions. The membership wants to sign the 2-year deal today.
