OE987 Business Manager Marc Lafond Comments on Provincial Election Call

Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister announced the provincial election date will be September 10, 2019 – over a full year before the original fixed election date of October 6, 2020.

“We are disappointed in the premier’s call for an early election,” stated Marc Lafond, Business Manager of OE987. “This government should be focusing its time and efforts on fixing the chaos in healthcare it has created, and other crucial issues such as greater infrastructure spending for jobs in heavy construction. This is not what Manitobans need right now. There are enough issues at play that need to be dealt with.”

The provincial government also announced just last week that The Health Sector Bargaining Unit Review Act (Bill 29) vote will occur from August 8^th to August 22^nd, 2019.
