Employment Opportunity: Heavy Duty Journey Mechanic

The RM of Lac du Bonnet is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for the full-time position of Heavy Duty Journey Mechanic. This position requires the mechanic to perform a variety of duties related to the servicing, repairing, overhauling, rebuilding, testing, inspecting and preventative maintenance of heavy-duty equipment, transport vehicles and fleet equipment. In the course of carrying out daily tasks, the incumbent submits various reports and records, as well as practices and ensures that the safety procedures are followed in the execution of their assigned duties.

The ideal candidate must hold a Manitoba recognized heavy-duty mechanics license (Red Seal Journeyman Certification is preferred). Experience with welding, holding a Manitoba Vehicle Inspection Certificate and a valid Manitoba Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License are not required but would be considered an asset. Red Seal Certification is preferred however Heavy Duty Apprentices may be considered.
